Anthony Stabile was a Italian-American gangster from Ozone Park, Queens who joined the Lucchese crime family and lated switched to the Gambino crime family. He is the brother of Tommasso "Thomas" who would also follow in his footsteps and become a member of the Lucchese crime family. "Tommy" was later arrested for armed robbery and sentenced to ten years in the 1960's cutting short his criminal career. Anthony is portrayed in the film Goodfellas by actor Frank Adonis.
Anthony worked closely with Henry Hill, Jimmy Burke, Tommy DeSimone and Stanley Diamond on many hijacking jobs from JFK Airport. Anthony became friends with Henry Hill and helped him cover up his affair he was having with his first mistress "Linda" by saying that she was there for Anthony instead of Henry. He was present at the card-game when Tommy DeSimone shot and maimed thirteen-year old Michael "Spider" Gianco at Robert's Lounge. It was Anthony who drove Gianco to seek medical help of a doctor down the street in Queens, New York. Then several weeks later he was present with Angelo John Sepe playing cards when Tommy shot him dead. Thomas was incarcerated sometime in 1972 before Henry Hill was sent to prison for extortion. Later he became involved with fellow crew members Hill, Tommy DeSimone and Jimmy Burke to help traffick narcotics. Anthony was later picked by Jimmy Burke to murder Henry Hill and Robert "Bobby" Germaine's son, Robert Germaine Jr. Anthony “Tony” Stabile was murdered sometime in at the time Henry Hill became an informant and testified against Paul Vario and the members of his crew. He was portrayed as Anthony Stabile by Frank Adonis. Anthony was murdered at some point in time during 1985 by Gambino crime family made soldier, “Banky” Frigente. Banky's first name is unknown. Banky was an Italian-American low-key Gambino crime family member who was partners with Charles Carneglia. In mob circles it is rumored that he executed Lucchese crime family soldier Anthony Stabile. Banky was involved in narcotics, auto theft and stolen guns. Anthony was shoved in the trunk of his own Cadillac DeVille then parked in a vacant field in Ozone Park, Queens, shot in the head. Frigente then set the Cadillac on fire. The police investigation led police to Frigente as the trigger man and made Frigente go into hiding. It is unknown the reasoning behind Anthony Stabile's murder. Anthony's brother Thomas Stabile was imprisoned for armed robbery of a failed 1972 bank heist in New York City at the time of his murder. It might have been Stabile's murder was because of his involvement in the drug trafficking network organized by Henry Hill, Thomas DeSimone (until his death), Jimmy Burke and Angelo Sepe, or murdered on the chance of being coaxed into becoming an informant on the large chance of being implicated by Henry Hill's testimony.
